Take a Break, Not a Bow Out: Returning with Legacy in Mind

Hey R.E.M. family — I know it’s been a while.

Truthfully, I needed a moment. I hadn’t posted in some time, and to be honest, I was feeling discouraged. I forgot why I started this. The vision felt blurred, the motivation faded, and I started questioning if it even mattered anymore.

But here’s what I’ve come to realize: it’s okay to take a break — just don’t quit.

In a world that glorifies hustle and highlights, we often feel pressured to be “on” all the time. To keep posting, creating, producing. But when God gives you a vision, it’s not just for today’s feed or this season’s results. It’s for generations. The ideas He gives you are seeds meant to grow into legacy — for your children, their children, and beyond.

And sometimes, seeds need rest too.

God reminded me: “You’re not building for a moment. You’re building for a legacy.”

We live in a culture that values speed, but the Kingdom is about longevity. God isn’t rushed. When He calls you to build, He’s thinking about impact that lasts — not trends that fade.

So I took a break. And if you need to, you can too. Taking a pause doesn’t mean you’ve failed — it means you’re wise enough to recharge, to reconnect, and to return with clarity.

And now… I’m back.

Refreshed. Regrounded. Reignited.

Let this be your reminder: rest is a part of the process.

If you’re building something God gave you — a ministry, a business, a dream — remember: it’s okay to breathe. Pause to pray. Pause to rest. Pause to remember your “why.” Then rise and keep going. Your legacy depends on it.

You haven’t seen the best of R.E.M. yet.

Let’s build.

With love,

Rebecca
