Fasting is a act of faith and humility that draws us closer to God. Throughout the Bible, fasting is often tied to moments of decision-making, preparation for influence, and seeking divine intervention. When we fast, we tune our hearts and minds to hear from the King of Kings, preparing ourselves for the roles and responsibilities He has assigned us. This act is especially critical when God is calling us to step into a position of influence, where our choices impact not only ourselves but others around us.
What Happens When We Fast?
- We Seek God’s Wisdom: In both Ezra and Esther’s stories, fasting was a way to seek God’s direction in the face of uncertainty.
- We Access Divine Favor: Esther’s fast paved the way for favor with the king, reminding us that fasting often leads to opportunities we cannot create ourselves.
- We Gain Spiritual Clarity: Through fasting, we clear the distractions of daily life and make room for God’s voice, enabling us to move forward with confidence and purpose.
God has positioned you for such a time as this. Like Esther and Ezra, fasting can help you step into influence with confidence and purpose, knowing that your help comes from the Lord. He will provide the courage, favor, and strategy you need—just trust Him, seek Him, and follow where He leads.
