Look in the Mirror: What Do You See?

Written by Rebecca Johnson

Take a minute to look in the mirror or take a selfie. What do you see?

Do you see the mistakes of your past, someone who has overcome tremendous challenges, or perhaps someone deeply loved by God?

Psalm 139:13-14 reminds us:
“For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

Have you ever considered the intricacy of being “knitted together”? It means God took His time with you. Like an artist crafting a masterpiece, He was hands-on, fully involved, and intentional in creating every detail of who you are. You’re not an accident or a rush job—you are a work of art, lovingly made by you Father God.

The Bible also teaches that we are made in God’s image (Genesis 1:27). When He looks at you, He sees a reflection of Himself. So, when you speak negatively about your appearance, talents, or worth, it’s not just self-criticism—you’re speaking against the God who formed you.

Let this truth sink in: You are fearfully and wonderfully made. The same God who spoke the stars into existence carefully shaped you for a purpose. When you see yourself, learn to see what God sees—a masterpiece worthy of love and purpose.

Today, ask yourself: Am I speaking words of life over the person God created me to be? Let’s start seeing ourselves through God’s lens and embracing His love for us.

You are more than enough. You are His.
