As I sat, thinking about what to write, the words of a childhood favorite song came rushing back:
“Sunshine through my window, that’s what you are, my shining star.”
Back then, I loved the melody but didn’t fully understand the lyrics. Now, as I reflect on my relationship with God, these words take on a whole new meaning.
God is my “sunshine,” breaking through the storms of life and bringing hope to my days. His love inspires me to reach for new heights, to dream, and to live fearlessly in pursuit of the purpose He has placed on my life.
Psalm 84:11 says:
“For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does He withhold from those whose walk is blameless.”
Like the song says, God is both my calm and my anchor. When I drift in life’s uncertainties, He grounds me, reminding me that I am never alone. His presence makes me feel like I’m on top of the world, capable of doing all things through Him who strengthens me (Philippians 4:13).
Today, I look at the world with optimism, knowing that God’s love surrounds me. He’s the shining star guiding my steps, encouraging me to go far and reach the potential He sees in me.
If you’re reading this and feeling stuck, lost, or discouraged, let these lyrics remind you of God’s love. Let Him be your sunshine, the One who clears the clouds and fills your life with purpose, hope, and joy.
“For the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9
