“Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?” (Genesis 3:11)

Do you remember the TV show You Are What You Eat? It focused on how the food we consume shapes our health and well-being. But what if we apply that principle to our spiritual lives? This morning, I was reading Genesis 3, a chapter I’ve read many times before. But today, one part stood out:
“Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?” (Genesis 3:11).
When Adam said he was naked, God didn’t just acknowledge it—He questioned the source of that belief. The truth is, Adam had always been naked, but listening to the wrong voice and eating the wrong fruit distorted his perspective.
Isn’t that how life works? Listening to the wrong voices—through social media, negative influences, or even our own insecurities—can warp our view of ourselves and keep us stuck in shame, fear, or doubt. What you consume shapes your perspective, just like a diet shapes your health.
So, it’s time to change your spiritual diet. What are you feeding your mind and soul? Are you listening to God’s voice, or are you letting the world’s lies define you?
Proverbs 4:23 reminds us:
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”
Let’s start guarding what we consume—be it what we watch, read, or hear. Fill yourself with God’s truth, and watch how it transforms your perspective.
